Aleczandria Coffie signed a track scholarship to Kentucky State University in a signing scholarship held at Paducah Tilghman High School on May 1.
In her track career, Coffie has specialized in in the Long Jump and Sprints. Coffie is a three-sport athlete who has played basketball and been a member of the cheer team in addition to participating in track and field.
Coffie is a member of PaxtonScholars Class 13 and plans to pursue studies in the medical field.
PTHS Track and Field Head Coach Randy Wyatt noted that it was a special day since Coffie was signing on her mother’s birthday. Wyatt remarked that Coffie had been participating in track for so long that she felt like a member of the family.
“Congratulations to Alec and her family,” said Wyatt. “This is a big accomplishment. I’m very proud of you and I’m hoping the best for you. I know you’re going to shine."
